Dodge’s  Log Lodges


Where should I stay I ask?
“Dodge's Log Lodges” she says
  What? Say that again
"Dodge's Log Lodges." I laugh,
Try to say that three times fast.

I called and heard a voice,
 interested, caring and his words
  echoed the beauty of the place.

So came I did, to the Lodge
 by the lake.
What I found was more beautiful,
 calming and peaceful than any voice
  or picture could portrait.

A Lodge near the shore of the big Lake
The lake they call Superior,
Superior it is, expansive, blue
glittering like diamonds in the sun.
Waves gently reaching un to shore,
A gentle soothing Rhythm they make.
Add to this a serenade of birds,
Loons, gulls, ducks each its own
 distinct call.

The Sounds Stir  your soul,
You look out across the Lake
Where the blue of the Lake
 meets the blue of the sky.

And you know this is why
 you are here.  For the peace
only nature, the Lake can bring.

Thank you Dodges Log Lodges,
for the peace and contentment
You bring.  For the strong, renewable
gentle world you offer.
No one comes here who is not
 changed, refreshed --
